If you’re planning to visit the Dead Sea and stay in a hotel, you’ll no doubt get a glimpse of Ein Bokek, the main beach of the Dead Sea hotel area. But why just get a glimpse? If you’re already there, you should go and treat yourself to some natural black mud or relax by floating in the super-salty water. The entrance to the beach is free of charge, and it’s suitable for all ages. You can enjoy Ein Bokek Beach year-round, alone, with your partner, with a group of friends, or with your family. Excited by the prospect? Keep reading for more details!

What you can find at Ein Bokek Beach

Ein Bokek is located right next to the hotel strip of the Dead Sea, and not far from the hotels’ shopping center and the Ein Tchelet Mall. The beach is actually comprised of two beaches: the south beach and the central beach. Both offer gorgeous views all around and have basic amenities for visitors.

These amenities include:

  • Lifeguard services
  • Sunshades and beach chairs
  • Water fountains (for drinking)
  • Toilets and showers
  • Barbecue  grills
  • A snack bar offering light meals, snacks, and beverages
  • The Ein Bokek Solarium – is an international skin treatment facility, which includes skincare clinics providing climatic skin therapy, a beach, toilets, and showers

The Ein Bokek beaches are relatively not crowded compared to other Dead Sea beaches. It is important to know that lighting fires and pitching tents in the area are prohibited. However, during holidays staying overnight on the beach is allowed in designated areas; and during those times, there are also designated barbecue areas on the beach.

How to get to Ein Bokek Beach

For those arriving from Jerusalem, drive east on Highway 1 until you reach the Lido junction. Turn right to Road 90, and drive south until you reach the Dead Sea hotel area. For those arriving from Arad, drive southeast on Road 31 until you reach the Zohar junction, then turn left and drive north until you reach the hotel area.
