Management has changed over the years. Rimonim Hotels signed a ten-year agreement with the owner, Danim Investments, in November 2010 and ran the hotel from January 2011, a deal Globes valued at approximately 120 million shekels over the ten years. Today the hotel books directly under the Royal Dead Sea name, with no chain affiliation listed on its official site.

The star rating needs care. The hotel’s official site presents the Royal Dead Sea as a five-star property under Israel’s Ministry of Tourism classification, while deadsea.com places it in the mid-range tier on price and guest score. Rooms start at about 36 square meters for a sea-facing deluxe and top out at the 56 square meter Royal Suite, which has a private jacuzzi, per the hotel’s official site. Between those sit deluxe pool and sea rooms at about 39 square meters, panorama rooms at 42, panorama rooms with balconies at 48, and deluxe suites at 50. The regional tourism site adds family rooms.

Standard kit runs across every category: air conditioning, TV, minibar, safe, free Wi-Fi. Views vary by wing and floor. If the sea view is the reason you are coming, say so when you book.

There are two separate spa areas, per the Dead Sea regional tourism site. The Royal Spa has a dry sauna, a wet sauna, and a Dead Sea water pool. The Dead Sea Spa has a heated indoor Dead Sea mineral pool, a jacuzzi, a dry sauna, and a freshwater pool. Massages, facials, and body treatments cost extra and run in 17 treatment rooms, some set up for couples.

A seasonal outdoor freshwater pool opens in summer, plus a children’s pool. The mineral pools carry roughly the same 34.2 percent salinity as the open sea, so the 15 to 20 minute soak guideline applies indoors too.

The kitchen is kosher, and the main dining room serves three meals a day in buffet format, per the official site. Salads, hot mains, grilled dishes, desserts. A lobby bar covers coffee and snacks between sittings.

Every beach in Ein Bokek is public and free, and the Royal Dead Sea Hotel keeps loungers, umbrellas, and towel service on the sand for its guests, per the Dead Sea regional tourism site, about two minutes on foot from the hotel lobby.

The “private beach” label on booking platforms is loose. What guests get is serviced access to Ein Bokek beach, groomed, shallow, and the easiest entry on the Israeli shore. The Dead Sea Mall is about five minutes on foot for pharmacies, cafes, and Dead Sea cosmetics; the Ein Bokek promenade covers the rest. Masada National Park lies 12 kilometers north of the hotel along Route 90, and Ein Gedi is a further 18 kilometers north, per the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.

Book the Royal Dead Sea if you want maximum Dead Sea for your money: a central position, mineral pools indoors, a serviced beach outside, and rates that generally undercut the luxury tier. Groups fit naturally here, as do travelers who treat the room as a base and spend their days floating, hiking, or out at Masada.

Skip it if polish is the point of the trip. The aggregated guest score on our listing stood at 3.4 out of 5 across 1,026 reviews as of July 2026, a workable number for the price bracket and well short of the strip’s leaders. There is a kids’ club, per the regional tourism site, though the Royal is not a dedicated family resort.

The Royal is a volume hotel that knows exactly what it is: around 400 rooms, real Dead Sea water in the spa, kosher buffets, and a central location. You give up refinement and get more Dead Sea per night than most of the strip offers at the price.
