Nahal Tamar and Lower Tzafit Hiking Guide

Nahal Tamar and Lower Tzafit Hiking Guide

The combined Nahal Tamar and Lower Tzafit route links two steep canyon sections near the southern Dead Sea. Both published descriptions include ladders or other fitted aids, so the route is suitable only for hikers who can climb and descend those sections safely.

The available sources describe different variants. One uses a vehicle transfer, while another describes a circular route. They also give different distances. Select one documented variant and do not mix its directions with another version.

Before departure

Confirm the exact start, finish, trail map, transport arrangement, daylight, weather, and current access. Do not enter either canyon when flash flooding is possible or when an authority restricts the route because of heat or another hazard.

Route: Combined canyon hike, exact variant required
Main challenge: Fitted aids, steep terrain, and route logistics
