Buy a Dead Sea product only when its name and market version, responsible company, complete label, seller, lot code, package, receipt, and return terms all match. Color, scent, price, country, barcode, or a familiar logo cannot prove authenticity alone.
Israeli and Jordanian products can both be legitimate. Authenticity comes from the exact item and its purchase trail, not from choosing one shore over the other.

Identity starts with the exact version

Who is accountable for the sale?
A familiar brand is only one part of the sale. The accountable business appears on the container for that market, the merchant takes payment, and a separate fulfillment company may ship the order.

Check the box and inner container together. Printing, size, variant, and directions should agree. A seal helps when that format normally has one, but not every cosmetic uses the same presentation, so a missing seal has meaning only after you know the genuine version.
In Israel, the Ministry of Health provides a public cosmetics database for business and product records. A matching entry is useful, but the name, market version, and batch on your physical container still need to match that record.
What can the ingredient list prove?

Massadeh and colleagues analyzed 9 metals in 95 raw-mud and commercial samples from the Jordanian market. Most levels were low to moderate under the comparison guidance used in the study, while lead and cadmium occasionally exceeded stricter technically avoidable thresholds.
Those results apply to the 95 samples that were analyzed, not to every jar on sale. An accountable maker, traceable lot, intact container, and complaint route tell you far more than color or a mineral smell.
Do price, color, scent, or a barcode reveal a fake?
No single price, color, scent, barcode, or lot code reveals a fake. A low price may reflect a promotion, tax, size, currency, old inventory, or retail margin; a high price proves just as little.
Codes can support traceability but can also be copied. Dark gray material and strong odor are easy to imitate. Trust agreement across the six fields in the table, not one dramatic clue.
Airport shops offer a better purchase trail
Airport shops give you a stronger purchase trail than an anonymous tourist vendor, although the package still needs to pass the same six checks. Does authenticity prove that a health claim is true?
No. A genuine cosmetic can still make an unsupported health claim. Authenticity tells you what the product is and who stands behind it; effectiveness is a separate question about what the finished product has been shown to do.
