Founded in 1963, the Ein Gedi Hot Springs was the first Spa to be opened around the Dead Sea and in the Holy Land. Originally the Spa was a tiny asbestos cabin, next to the thermo-mineral well. Today, the Ein Gedi hot springs is an important health center offering many health care treatments, and soothing experiences. The mineral hot spring water contains a high percentage of Sulphur, which is vital for constructing proteins and amino-acids and encourages a vital activity for the skin. The resort includes a fine big restaurant, and a coffee shop, a cosmetic store, and skincare products, and a refreshment stand. Among the services offered are 6 thermo-mineral pools including a common pool, separate pools for men and women, a treatment center with a verity of mud-pad, and natural pilling techniques under the hand of various expert therapists. In the summer, a wide fresh-water pool is open in the outdoors and access to the Dead Sea shore.

How to get to Ein Gedi Beach?

The hot springs of Ein Gedi are located about 4.5km south to the Kibbutz Ein Gedi. It’s a one-hour drive from Jerusalem, a two-hour drive from Tel Aviv, and a 45-minute drive from Arad. From the main hotel area of the Dead Sea – Ein Bokek – it would take you a short 20-minute drive.

The drastic drop of the surface along the years had made severe changes to the site, and over the last 30 years, the shore has drawn back more than a mile away from the Spa. A road was peeved, and a train (actually a tractor carrying two wagons) is constantly going back forth taking the visitors to the shoreline.

Visitors who hoped to visit old Ein Gedi Beach and discovered that it is closed at the moment (due to sinkholes), don’t have to change their plans – they can visit this gorgeous beach instead.
