Are you planning a trip to the Dead Sea in Israel? Then you must be wondering which beaches to visit, as there are several of them. While all beaches are impressive and lovely to visit, Neve Midbar Beach is truly magical. Only a 25-minute drive from Jerusalem, you’ll find a wide stretch of sand lining the light blue waters, glimmering in the sun, all of it surrounded by golden-brown hills and enveloped by an almost mystical stillness. Neve Midbar Beach is equipped with everything a visitor might need: shaded grass areas, camping grounds, a bungalow area, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a large parking area, and more. It’s the ultimate beach for people of all ages, families, couples, and people traveling on their own

What you can find at Neve Midbar Beach

Here are all the things you can find at Neve Midbar beach:

  • Mud area – No need to buy expensive mud in Dead Sea stores (unless you want to take some home with you). Natural black mud can be found in abundance at this beach.
  • Swimming pools – The beach boasts not one but two swimming pools – one for adults and older children, and one for toddlers.
  • Oriental restaurant – The restaurant on the beach, which features a charming terrace overlooking the majestic desert landscape, specializes in Jordanian-Palestinian cuisine and offers various dishes, including meat, salads, and a choice of entrees. It can also accommodate private events, birthday parties, and private dinners.
  • Club bar – The bar at the beach offers drinks and light meals and often features live shows, karaoke nights, dance parties, and more.
  • Bungalow area and camping ground – Visitors can stay in bungalows (which have mattresses and electricity) or pitch their tents in the camping ground.
  • Dead Sea products store – Those wishing to take home souvenirs can find some in the store.
  • Toilets and showers
  • Lifeguard services
  • Sunshades and beach chairs
  • Large parking area
  • Designated barbecue areas – if you want to bring your own food, you can cook it using the barbecue spots.

How to get to Neve Midbar Beach

Neve Midbar Beach is located at the northern part of the Dead Sea. To get there from Jerusalem, drive on Highway 1 until you reach the Lido junction. At the junction turn right to Road 90. After several hundred meters, follow the signs to Kalia Beach, and turn left to Neve Midbar Beach. Neve Midbar is the southernmost beach of the three beaches located in the area.
